Sue Avery

Born in 1967, in the West Midlands, Sue has had a love of art from a very early age. She won art prizes at Edgbaston High School and at Huddersfield Polytechnic where she was awarded best first year student, and was a finalist in the 1991 BBC Clothes Show knitting competition. She moved down to Oxfordshire in 1994 and married. Following a career in knitwear design and garment technology, Sue took a break to have children. She subsequently became a primary school teacher. Sue fell in love with making glass following a course whilst on holiday on Cornwall in 2017. She now makes glass at her home in Moulsford, South Oxfordshire.
