Born in 1969, Jo trained at Winchester School of Art and Kingston University, graduating in 1996 with an MA in Fine Art. Having taught art for over a decade, she now concentrates on painting full time, whilst continuing to demonstrate her sills to art societies and painting groups across the South East. She also uses her experience as a tutor to write about painting and has recently had several articles published in The Artist magazine.
Jo has a passion for panting the city and its people and takes full advantage of living close to a big city, taking frequent trips to London where she can observe and photograph people going about their daily lives. Influenced by artists such as Pissarro, Hopper and Lowry, her bright and contemporary images encourage the viewer to take a second look and get involved in the many characters and the stories they tell.
