Giles Ward

Experimental contemporary Wye Valley artist Giles Ward’s paintings explore the intricate details, patterns and shifting colours of his sea life subjects. Inspired by the natural world he examines the hidden kingdoms of colour and texture found in nature’s close up detail.
Originally from Yorkshire he studied fine art in Sheffield before moving to Exeter to study illustration and design. Now he worlds predominantly in oils and his canvases take on other-wordly textures with the addition of acrylics, inks, spray paint, varnishes and anything else he can lay his hands on.
